Communities Against Alcohol Harm - Logo Redesign

Communities Against Alcohol Harm, or CAAH, was established in 2014 and attained charity status in 2022. Their mission is to reduce alcohol-related harm through advocacy, education, and community initiatives. Originally based in South Auckland, CAAH has expanded its reach across the nation. They support communities that struggle with the complex and often daunting process of opposing alcohol licenses. I led a project to redesign the CAAH logo, aiming to modernise and more accurately reflect the organisation's values and community orientation. The redesign process utilised design thinking and underwent several iterations. Inspiration for the design came from witnessing the unity and resolve of community members protesting a new liquor store in South Auckland. This experience guided my creation of a series of characters, each with distinct personalities and backgrounds, symbolising their collective commitment to their community’s future.
