Turehou Māori Wardens Charitable Trust; Logo Redesign.

The primary objective of this project was to redesign the original logo for Turehou Māori Wardens Charitable Trust. The goal was to enhance the aesthetic appeal of the existing design while also strengthening the brand's identity as a community-based organisation with a deep spiritual connection to the land.

To achieve this, my proposed solution was to redefine its logo by emphasizing its brand message, "For the love of our community." I incorporated a Marae motif and illustrated Koru's to symbolize growth and connection. The Koru patterns along the Maihi of the Marae represent the unfurling and emergence of new life, signifying a sense of rebirth and hope for the future.

In terms of colour, I chose specific shades with symbolic meanings. Black represents Te Korekore, the realm of Potential Being and the darkness from which the world emerged. White represents Te Ao Marama, the realm of Being and light, symbolizing purity, harmony, and enlightenment. Red symbolizes Papatuanuku, Earth Mother, the sustainer of all living things, as it is the colour of the earth from which the first humans were made.

The shapes and forms in the logo were carefully chosen to convey meaningful messages. The intertwining Koru patterns not only represent the unfurling of a new life but also symbolize the strength within the community. By supporting and intertwining with each other, they visually illustrate the mission of Turehou Māori Wardens to protect and support their community.

Overall, the redesigned logo incorporates elements that showcase the brand's identity, community focus, and spiritual connection, creating a visually appealing and meaningful representation of Turehou Māori Wardens Charitable Trust.
